Congress

  • The Congress Building is being displayed with a Congressmen dressed in his work attire.
  • The action that is being taking here is the Congressmen realizing that without a government his political position is really of no use. He will just be like an ordinary citizen without any type of power.
  • The message here is that Government are people in a higher position who get paid a nice amount of money and have somewhat better lives the the ordinary american based on salary and power position. But without government there will be NO use for them.
  • This relates to the shut of congress that was to be On April 8. Our class discussed the many things that could change and what may not be affected by this situation.
  • Satire is that people in high positions may think that they over shine us. And maybe that they live better than we do but without government their just like us.

Government Shut DOWN

  • This cartoon does not display any title or caption.
  • The objects that are represented in this image is a newspaper, and two people the artist is trying to display a conversation between two people on a important topic.
  • The action that is taking place here is that over the weekend Government was to shut down and the woman asked the man what bad could happen by shutting down the government and neither one of them had an answer.
  • The message of this cartoon was to show that with or without government our country could not possibly get any worse than it already is. With all the things that are going on and the decisions that are being made government shutting down would not change a thing.
  • This relates to what a current political event that was to happen the weekend of the April 8, 2011.
  • This relates to our class discussion because we were speaking on what would change if this was to stay for a long period of time. For instance welfare and government ran programs would no longer exists.
  • The sarcasm that is showed here is that this was a real event but people didn't seem to think much of it. and the irony was that it was acted as if it was just an everyday topic.
